We’ve done many things differently this year to help our clients thrive, but one thing that stands out the most is the shift from in-person events to virtual. But we didn’t simply move the in-person events to Zoom or Webex. We’ve all been in far too many online meetings, and the idea of adding one more Zoom where people will mute themselves, drop off video and multitask probably isn’t your goal.
So we created what we call a Digital Duffle Bag to help clients decide how to make their webinars, roundtables, sales kickoffs and virtual trade shows more engaging, interactive and fun.
Here are four things that make virtual events irresistible:
- Meaningful content that resonates with the audience
- Consider forgoing the slides altogether, unless you truly need to present complex information
- Get attendees to participate and share ideas, ask questions, respond to polls, join an icebreaker kickoff – we have many techniques to get people talking.
- Have some fun. One year into this new dynamic and we are all experiencing online meeting fatigue, so it helps to incent the attendance by closing with a group activity like a cooking demo with a pro chef.
